Ben Allan ACS CSI became the youngest person to be awarded the ACS<\/strong> letters by the Australian Cinematographers Society<\/em> <\/strong>in 2002 and is the first accredited cinematographer in the world ever to be awarded the CSI<\/strong> letters as a colorist by the Colorist Society International<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among his many awards are the coveted Ross Wood Memorial Award<\/strong><\/em>, a Content Technology Award<\/strong><\/em> and cinematography awards at numerous film festivals around the world. His work has screened in official selection in prestigious festivals including the Sydney, Melbourne, Hollywood<\/em> <\/strong>and Cannes Film Festivals<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has over 1,500 TV Commercial credits<\/strong>, and decades of experience in feature films, TV drama, documentaries both behind the lens and in all aspects of post production. I<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2001, with the help of Panavision<\/em>, he designed the first digital LOG Gamma<\/strong> curves, a feature now built into every professional camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He pioneered desktop colour grading in 2005 with his award winning software The Grading Sweet<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ben is a former editor of the professional journal Australian Cinematographer<\/em> <\/strong>and has been a member of the ACS since 1996 serving in numerous capacities and committees including over a decade on the Tech Committee<\/strong><\/em> and as National Secretary<\/strong><\/em> of the society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has been producing professionally since 1995 and currently has a slate of projects in development through Main Course Films. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2019 he has been the host of The T Stop Inn<\/em><\/strong> podcast.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
