Clara Chong

CO-FOUNDER

DIRECTOR • WRITER • EDITOR

Born in Tokyo, raised in Sydney, and trained in New York, Clara brings over 30 years of global filmmaking experience combining narrative craft with technical innovation. Her projects have included work with Nestlé, Audi, Coca-Cola, Qantas, Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Walt Disney Japan, Paramount Pictures, and McDonalds.

Her work in Apple Immersive Video has explored how narrative storytelling translates into this groundbreaking new format, and her expertise spans writing, directing and editing, with a focus on how cinematic language, physiological perception, and advanced workflows come together in immersive filmmaking. Her first work in immersive was a decade ago when she directed WILD SQUAD ADVENTURES for Sydney’s iconic Taronga Zoo – a 270° immersive family action-adventure film that pioneered resolution, motion, and perceptual scale for large-format screens on a custom built 25m wide screen, the widest in the world at that time.

Her directing career began when she was featured in London Campaign Screen’s New Director Showcase as a result of her 35mm short film SUGAR INC. which established her as a director with bold visual flair and an eye for performance.

Her mystery thriller DARK NOISE was nominated for Best Feature at the Little Venice Film Festival in London, screened at the National Film & Sound Archive in Canberra, was a Semi-Finalist at the BAFTA & Academy Award-affiliated Rhode Island International Film Festival and received an Honorable Mention at the Paris International Film Festival.

Today, she continues to push the boundaries of storytelling and technology, building on her foundation in traditional drama and documentary, while shaping the creative and technical grammar of Apple Immersive Video.

Clara also has an Honours Degree in International Relations from Macquarie University, Sydney.
